The time withstanding tiffin services are still very much popular in India today especially amongst students, people living in hostels and working professionals. The food delivery app’s primary rival Swiggy has already started serving over 1000 people in Gurugram via its newly started service, “Swiggy daily”. This service allows people to order home cooked food every day that is prepared by home chefs and tiffin providers.

This service offered by Swiggy is subscription based. Customers can choose daily/weekly/monthly plans for the same. It is also being compared to the dabbawalla service that is extremely popular in Mumbai. The tweet by Zomato had led many people to speculate that it will be starting a similar service shortly.

The food delivery app also trigged a viral trend with its witty tweet. Many brands proceeded to have a cheerful banter as a response to the same. These brands included The Viral fever, Youtube, Dabur, Ixigo and Amazon Prime. These brands tweaked the tweet to do some promotion of their own.

Ixigo, which is a travel company replied to it in a hilarious way saying, “guys! Kabhi kabhi ghar pe bhi baithna chahiye,” (one should sometimes stay at home as well)

Amazon Prime replied, “Guys! Kabhi kabhi cable pe bhi kuch dekh lena chahiye,” (one should sometimes watch content on cable TV as well”

Hajmola joined in the banter, tweeting, “Guys! Kabhi kabhi kuch baatein hajam kar leni chahiye,” (one should digest some things once in while)

However, Zomato wasn’t having any of it and hilariously replied, “kabhi kabhi khudh k acche tweets bhi soch lene chahiye” (one should sometimes think good tweets of their own)

While the conversation began with speculations about the food delivery app’s next move, it quickly turned into a fun and witty banter.

Apart from this, the food delivery app continues to be surrounded by controversy. Today the food delivery app was slapped with a hefty fine of ₹55,000 when it served non-veg food instead of veg food that a customer had ordered in Pune.

This controversy comes shortly after one of its food delivery boys was caught eating a customer’s ordered food in Tamil Nadu last year.
