Popular Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan along with 3 Cultfit officials has been booked under the charges of cheating a customer. Cultfit is the brand under which Curefit operates its fitness centres.

The customer filed charges against the Bangalore based company alleging false advertising and fake promises with regards to services provided by the fitness company.

In his complaint, the customer accused the fitness chain of not providing him daily workout sessions when he had paid for “unlimited” classes. In their defence, the company retorted that the customer’s behaviour towards their staff was inappropriate and violent. They further said that Roshan was unnecessarily and wrongly being dragged in this issue.

The company stated that they are co-operating with the proper authorities to come up with remedial actions.

The customer in question had lodged a complaint with the Bangalore police on 22nd June 2019, stating that he had enrolled into the fitness centre in November 2018 after paying a fee of ₹ 17,490 for a 10-month membership. He alleges that despite paying fees he was cheated as the fitness centre failed to provide him daily workout sessions. He said that the company caused him depression by denying him regular workout sessions. Most of the times these sessions were unavailable.

In a statement, the company said that the customer in question has repeatedly behaved violently and inappropriately due to which the company was forced to take action against him. They said that the complaint was falsely filed as retaliation to the company, mischievously dragging their celebrity spokesperson as well.

Cure.fit which was founded in 2016 by Ankit Nagori and Mukesh Bansal is a holistic fitness and health platform. It offers services such as Cult.fit, Mind.fit and Eat.fit. Apart from these they also have 10 physical centres running in Bangalore. The fitness company also provides an app for iphone and android users.

The fitness company had brought Hrithik Roshan on board as their brand ambassador in 2017 after signing a 5-year contract valued at ₹100 Cr with him. The actor was offered an equity stake in the company in place of cash.  As a part of the contract, Cure.fit went on to introduce a customized workout plan from HRX which is Roshan’s personal brand in all its Cultfit fitness centres.
