In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025 (Q1 FY25), the online travel ticket buying platform EaseMyTrip, run by Easy Trip Planners Ltd., announced a robust financial recovery.

A 31% increase from the Rs 25.9 crore profit reported in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year (Q1FY24) to an overall profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 33.93 crore was reported by the online travel booking platform.

From Rs 126.46 crore in Q1FY24 to Rs 156.12 crore in Q1FY25, EaseMyTrip’s operating revenue increased by 23.34% yearly.

Where Did EaseMyTrip’s Q1FY25 Growth Came From?

The company’s excellent performance in the Middle Eastern market—particularly in Dubai—fueled its growth.

Reiterating the potential of the Middle East market, co-founder Prashant Pitti said, “The management is spending a good amount of time in Middle East operations, which is a huge market, still highly untapped.”

Was EaseMyTrip Able to Cut It’s Expenses?

Even though its sales increased during the quarter, EaseMyTrip had certain difficulties. From Rs 91.56 crore in the previous fiscal year to Rs 109.03 crore this year, the company’s total expenses increased by 19%.

Notably, the collapse of Go Airlines resulted in a one-time expense for the company of Rs 72.4 crore linked to “advances to supplier written off”. The company maintained profitability despite a modest offset from the increase in expenses towards the total growth in profits.

How Did EaseMyTrip’s Non-Air Business Do?

In its non-air business categories, EaseMyTrip also recorded notable growth, especially in hotel reservations and vacation packages.

These segments’ gross booking revenue climbed by 116.6% annually in Q1 FY25, to Rs 210.7 crore.
