India’s biggest bus aggregator Shuttl has arrived the food delivery market by launching meals on buses for daily travellers. The Gurgaon-based company looks forward to monetising its confined customer base. Since its launch last year, the company is planning to raise the offering this year by supplying meals on 1,200 buses, for most of the parts of Delhi-NCR.
Singh also mentioned that the company estimates to break even at a working level within a month on the bases of increasing prices, bigger buses, and develop occupancy levels. Selling everyday essentials on buses such as milk, curd, bread, butter, and others would be the new footstep for the company.

Shuttl is an office-based bus assistance app, controlled by Super Highway Labs Pvt. Ltd. Currently, Shuttl gives its services in primary cities such as in Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Kolkata. Shuttl was established by Amit Singh and Deepanshu Malviya in 2015 and soon has over 800 buses on its ground. Shuttl is working to give air-conditioned minibuses and it tries to resolve moving problems in the country. In 2015, Shuttl was able to raise $20 Million within 8 months based on its a successful outcome in the Delhi market.

Based on the industry estimates, around 1.5 lakh private buses work in India with about 7 crore passenger on a daily average. Nevertheless, private bus aggregation has been a rough market to expertise unsettling to the problems involved in the business. These contain optimising of paths, creating efficiencies and constant examination around the business model. Other aggregator company such as Ola, which was launched in 2015, closed down the offering last year.

“We took our time in Delhi NCR, to examine how to set directions, measure routes and what is the core experience necessary in the offering and frequency. Currently, we are in the development phase. Around 30 per cent of travellers take more than 30 trips every month, and such strong frequency is never done before in transaction internet businesses.”

This year, The Bus aggregator company expanded operations to Calcutta, Pune, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Although, 80 per cent of the company’s business is from Delhi NCR. The company does around 60,000 trips every day.  Also, the bus aggregator had raised $11 Million (INR 76.81 crore) by Amazon India, Amazon, Alexa and Dentsu Ventures and at present has more than 45,000 rides in its five cities. It has around 200 employees workforce, half of which are in engineering
roles. It has also been depending on hyper-local consciousness drivers and ads on its buses to expand its business.
