Shark Tank India 4: Anupam Mittal tells pitchers ‘Isse achha thela laga lo

Anupam Mittal, the creator of Shaadi.com, has made headlines for eliminating Gaurav Taneja, also known as Flying Beast, another influencer-turned-entrepreneur. In a recent Shark Tank India season 4 episode, the creator of Shaadi.com took aim at business and financial celebrity Vijay Nihalchandani.

On the most recent Shark Tank India episode, business and finance influencer Vijay Nihalchandani made one of the most controversial pitches of the fourth season with his money recovery software. In order to promote Make My Payment, an app that reminds debtors who are in default, Vijay appeared on the show alongside his brother, wife, and business partner. However, the “sharks” panel—which included Peyush Bansal, Ritesh Agarwal, Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar, and Anupam Mittal—had differing opinions about the company.

Following Vijay’s explanation of the company’s basics, Namita made a few clear remarks. According to her, an automated voicemail won’t influence someone who has already fallen behind on payments. The individual can choose to ignore the number completely or block it. According to Vijay’s wife, the app would keep calling various numbers. Anupam laughed sarcastically because he couldn’t stand it. Aman asked Vijay if he has any other side projects because he suspected that he was a serial entrepreneur. According to Vijay, he has approximately one million Instagram followers and operates a successful hotel booking company.

Shark Peyush questioned Vijay

When Peyush questioned Vijay about his earnings on Instagram, he replied that he earns about Rs 5 lakh a month. Despite feeling that this was insufficient for someone with a million followers, Peyush seems impressed. However, Namita wasn’t. She added that part of her role on Shark Tank is to enlighten and educate founders, so she urged them to “stop this business and focus on something more meaningful.” Anupam concurred. “This is not a business,” he declared. Take it seriously.

When he asked the platform’s creators how many users they presently had, Vijay’s wife replied that 3500 people had registered, 200 of whom were paid subscribers. This, according to Anupam, validates his argument. “You earn Rs 30,000 a month, so why aren’t you getting paid?”

Shark tank pitch

The founders went empty-handed when the “sharks” made no proposals. However, when they left, Namita, Anupam, and Peyush got into a fight. “Why are you misguiding them?” asked Namita. Anupam then remarked, “You’re supporting an influencer.” This is not India’s Got Talent; rather, it is a platform for corporate investments. Anupam said, “Sach mein itna wow hai toh paise daal ke dikhao,” after Peyush expressed his admiration for Vijay’s achievement of gaining one million followers. You did not make an investment.
