It also has a camera mounted on it. The robotic dog was revealed in a video broadcast by the official IPL X (previously Twitter) account, with Danny Morrison introducing it.
In the video, the robot dog interacts with players from several clubs, including the Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. It even creates a heart emoji. This robotic dog has joined the Tata IPL broadcast team.
This arises as sports broadcasting improves and advances. The way we watch cricket, Formula One, basketball, and football matches is evolving. Sports coverage is more detailed and fascinating than ever before, because to advances in technology such as better cameras, improved graphics, ball tracking, and higher quality footage.
However, the publication did not divulge the actual camera specifications of the robotic dog. To better comprehend this, we examined the footage, and here’s what we discovered.
If you watch the video closely, you’ll notice that the artificial dog is generally playing around and socializing with players like Hardik Pandya and Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel. Only halfway through the video do we get any POV (point of view) pictures from the camera mounted on the robotic dog.
According to our observations, the field of vision is quite broad, comparable to an action camera such as a GoPro, making it suitable for these kind of images. The dog can be seen filming practice sessions in the nets, following Hardik Pandya and Danny Morrison as they engage in their customary antics. These are some of the POV shots captured by the camera installed on the robot dog. However, it is unknown how successfully the IPL broadcast team would use it and what kind of footage it will be appropriate for.
However, based on the nature of the video, it will most likely be utilized to shoot behind-the-scenes events, providing new angles that a conventional camera operator may be unable to catch, particularly given the dog’s low height, which can result in unusual footage.
Technically, close-up photos of the robotic dog and its mounted camera show that the camera is fairly small. It appears to be mounted on a gimbal-type mechanism.
