GOQii eyes to raise $50 – 70 Million as a part of series C round of finance and equity.

Fitness reforms the feeling of living and it can’t be achieved in a day. It is collaborative efforts of months of hard work. Several startups have come which are assisting in this sector. Wearable tech startup, GOQii has raised an undisclosed amount from Bollywood superstar and health icon Akshay Kumar. This funding is a part of the ongoing series C funding round of the startup. The actor has joined the company’s board as the partner, brand ambassador, and strategic advisor.

Akshay Kumar is going to host the ‘India Health Quiz’ on GOQii Play, one of the biggest health education initiatives on the exclusive health and fitness live OTT platform. Akshay will also be organizing live coaching sessions on GOQii Play.

On joining GOQii, Akshay Kumar said, “I have faith in the GOQii preventive health ecosystem, and I feel proud to be associated with such a dedicated team. Health is not a short term goal and it can easily be attained by adopting a healthy lifestyle. I, along with the team of leading GOQii Coaches, will be working to make 130 crore Indians healthy.”

As part of this association, Akshay Kumar will host one of the biggest health education initiatives called the ‘India Health Quiz’ on GOQii Play, the exclusive health and fitness live OTT platform, the company said in a statement. Kumar will also be conducting live coaching sessions on GOQii Play, the company added.

Mumbai and Palo Alto-based GOQii is eyeing to raise $50 – 70 Million as a part of series C round of finance and equity. It has closed its series B funding round by raising $30 Million. The round was led by Mitsui, a Japanese conglomerate and an active healthcare investor. Several other investors including Galaxy Digital, a leading blockchain merchant bank that invests through Galaxy EOS VC fund and Denlow Investment Trust, a leading LP in consumer and tech-focused global funds also participated in the funding round.

 GOQii wearable devices assist users to monitor sleep, track their step counts and other fitness activities. The company also offers a fitness coaching program in conjunction with wearable devices. 

Several other startups have also gained huge funds from actors. Recently Pune-based health and wellness startup SQUATS raises funds from Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty.  Actor Arjun Kapoor has also invested an undisclosed amount in good delivery startup FoodCloud.
