One of India’s most successful travel services ‘Ixigo’ recently launched its new campaign on things not to do in a flight as an educating traveler’s guide on in-flight etiquette. The new campaign video is a series of traveling etiquette series by Ixigo. This campaign focus on raising awareness on following certain lesser-known rules to follow while traveling.

This year, Ixigo also launched its first travel etiquette guide called ‘Stuff you can take from hotels’. The new campaign took the internet by storm and generate millions of videos on numerous social media platforms. This campaign was presented as a crash course for travelers on things they can and cannot take from their hotel rooms while checking out.

The hotel travel services and hotel guide application also researched usual travel exasperation and how can a traveler handle them carefully to ensure a swift journey. Some of the known problems that passengers are facing while traveling are, Chatty and loud co-travelers, toilet and armrest control, reclining seats during meals, immoral and ill-mannered passengers, and others.

The study proves that both first-time, also frequent travelers, have half knowledge about behavioral norms to follow in a flight. Based on its research, Ixigo planned to educated travelers through a video that summarizes do’s and don’ts while traveling on a flight.

Through this new campaign, we want to create awareness to our audience on how following certain norms can help them to have amazing travel experience.”

Recently, Hotel aggregator is now putting its hands-on digital content platform intending to give entertainment content to its users. Aloke Bajpai said that their application will consist of an entertainment category for train travelers with a lot of time to spend.

CEO Bajpai states that they will be curating and aggregating the content from numerous platforms also making original material. Their first original web series is called, Zindagi Express, based on a progressive nuclear family and revolves around their conflicts and problems they face while planning a family trip. The 8-episode original series is streaming live on the Ixigo trains app.

Introduced in June 2006, Ixigo was started by IIT Kanpur pair of Aloke Bajpai and Rajnish Kumar. Bajpai was born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh and completed his electrical engineering from IIT Kanpur. Soon, he moved to France to work for a Europe-based travel technology company called ‘Amadeus’.

The company aggregates and lets you compare instant travel information, prices, and availability of trains, buses, flights, cabs, hotels, and others. After leaving Amadeus, Bajpai started working his business studies at INSEAD’s Asia campus Singapore. Returning to India, Bajpai met his old classmate Kumar (co-founder) and the pair decided to launch Ixigo.

The meta-search engine has been leisurely developed into an online travel agency (OTA) and has accounted for remarkable conversion in the platform. The company’s plans for adding entertainment to become a go-to online portal for digital entertainment for travelers has been a successful step. Now it will be exciting to see what going to be the next for Ixigo.
