Haptik is one of the world’s biggest enterprise conversational AI platform based in Mumbai. Established in 2013 by Aakrit Vaish, A contender to the Forbes India 30 under 30 lists in 2015, and Swapan Rajdev, an Ex-ETL counsellor at Accenture. Haptik carries more 500+ brands such as Coca-cola, ICICI Bank, Samsung, Mahindra Group, and others. 

Aakrit Vaish’s Haptik is one of India’s largest brands and is also one of the highest-rated mobile application in the country with 4.5 stars out of 5 on Google Play store. Apart from the Haptik, Aakrit is also a startup investor and advisor in the areas main focused on internet ad-tech, Saas and others. 

It’s been a roller coaster journey for the Mumbai-based enterprise. Since its launch, the customer support/user-to-business communication space is generated a lot of buzzes. In the last 6 years, Haptik app has been downloaded by more than 1 million users and also voted as one of the Top 25 mobile companies in the world. The AI-platform achieves 30 million devices every month and has also operated more than a billion messages thus far. 

One of world’s largest Conversational AI-platform was born with a trust that mobile messaging would turn to be the #1 communication platform in the next ten years. Former Flurry member, Aakrit was significant in growing the brand into a multi-million-dollar business. After he founded the business operations team and set up an office in Mumbai, Flurry was acquired by Yahoo! in 2014. 

Aakrit also co-founded and was a top investor for Flatchat app, which helps users to find shared accommodation or flatmates. Flatchat was later sold to Commonflorr.com in the same year. Aakrit was involved with companies such as WhatsApp, TextFree, and TextPlus, etc. 

Before Flurry, Aakrit was at Deloitte consulting operating on large scale technology execution. He also has The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. 

Recently, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), via its subsidiary Reliance Jio Digital Services Ltd (RJDSL) has acquired a big share of stakes in Mumbai based AI-platform Haptik for $100.9 million (INR 700 crore). 

In the investment of $100.9 million (INR 700 crore), RIL paid $33.1 million (INR 280 crore) and $67.8 million (INR 420 crore) will come into Haptik over the next five years. Reliance now holds 87 per cent of the stakes in Haptik and the rest of the shares will be own by the company through stock option grants. Soon, All of the Haptik’s business and possessions will be shifted to the Reliance Jio Digital Services Ltd.
