This season, Shark Tank India, an entrepreneurial reality show, is making a daring move by showcasing the inventiveness of young business owners. Although the show has historically featured well-established businesses and seasoned businesspeople, this year’s Campus Special edition was a  welcome change. It highlighted young entrepreneurs with lofty goals and even loftier concepts, demonstrating that creativity and tenacity know no bounds.

The Campus Special program also included Meet Deore, a 16-year-old from Pune, who gave a presentation on his business, Deni Bikes. This creative startup is focused on creating fully Indian-made, reasonably priced, and environmentally friendly electric motorcycles. Meet developed an early love with cars, and by the time he was ten years old, he had constructed his first electric go-kart.

Deni Bikes embodies Meet’s vision of promoting eco-friendly transportation while making electric vehicles accessible to the masses. During his pitch, he sought an investment of ₹30 lakh for a 10% equity stake, valuing his company at ₹3 crores.

His technical proficiency and enthusiasm thrilled the sharks, but they also made clear how crucial it was that he put his studies first. Although some sharks were hesitant to contribute because of his youth and the infancy of his company, they provided mentorship and advice to help him improve his business plan and eventually obtain capital.

Meet’s story demonstrates how young entrepreneurs are tackling important issues like transportation affordability and climate change while thinking beyond traditional job paths.
