Bamboo India : Shark Tank India Story

The startup company Bamboo India has raised 50 lakhs  in equity funding, which means they sold 3.5% ownership of the company. They also received 30 lakhs in debt financing. The investors who provided this funding were Sharks Ashneer Grover and Anupam Mittal from the TV show Shark Tank India. The original request from the startup founders was for 80 lakhs (8 million rupees) in exchange for 4% equity in the company. Investor Aman offered 20 lakhs  in cash and 60 lakhs in debt for this 4% equity. Investor Peyush then countered with an offer of 80 lakhs  for a 20% ownership stake.

Investors Anupam and Ashneer then offered 40 lakhs  in cash and 40 lakhs  in debt for an 8% stake in the company. The startup founders Peyush and Aman then made a joint counteroffer of 80 lakhs for a 20% equity share. The startup founders then countered again, asking for 50 lakhs  in cash and 30 lakhs  in debt for a 3% equity stake. Anupam and Ashneer then offered 50 lakhs  in cash and 30 lakhs in debt for a 6% equity stake.

Finally, Peyush and Aman made a counteroffer of 50 lakhs  in cash and 30 lakhs in debt for a 5% equity stake. The deal that was ultimately accepted was 50 lakhs  for a 3.5% equity stake, plus 30 lakhs in debt financing, from investors Anupam and Ashneer.

Bamboo India has secured a total of $66.3K in funding across two rounds. The company’s initial funding round took place on February 25, 2022.
