Previous IPL Betting and Black Ticketing Incidents in Bengaluru

This comes after several people were previously detained by the Bengaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) special team in relation to illicit cricket betting and black-market ticket sales for Tata IPL 2025 games that took place between April 2 and April 18.

The Cubbon Park Police Station conducted two significant measures as part of coordinated operations throughout the city.  In the first, a person was detained for unlawful gambling and discovered to be in possession of Rs 31,49,654 in bank cash and Rs 42,91,659 worth of betting chips.

Four people were found selling match tickets close to M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in a different incident.  Twenty-five IPL tickets, four cell phones, Rs 50,000 in cash, and Rs 31,94,459 obtained online were confiscated by the police.

Hotels, restaurants, and travel bureaus all gain greatly from the IPL competition, especially in towns where matches are held.  With a spike in domestic and foreign travelers flocking to watch live sports, local businesses see increased foot traffic.  Many restaurants and pubs host IPL viewing events, which boosts sales and customer interaction.  Home-stay services and inexpensive motels are also becoming popular as fans look for low-cost lodging options.
