Zepto Retains No. 1 Position on LinkedIn’s Top Startups India 2025 List

Three points you will get to know in this article:

1. Zepto topped the LinkedIn Top Startups India 2025 list for the third straight year (#1), ahead of Lucidity (#2) and Swish (#3).
2. The list highlights quick commerce, AI-native platforms, and specialized fintech as key growth drivers.
3. Bengaluru remains the startup capital with nine top 20 firms, while Hyderabad and Pune are gaining national prominence.

Zepto Tops the List for the Third Consecutive Year

For the third year in a row, Zepto, a quick commerce platform, has topped the 2025 LinkedIn Top Startups India list. Lucidity, a corporate cloud storage company, and Swish, a 10-minute food delivery platform, are next in line.

Based on proprietary data across four critical metrics—employee growth, member engagement, job interest, and the potential to attract top talent—the list, which was made public on Wednesday, ranks up-and-coming companies where careers are most likely to flourish.

Startups must be privately held, have their headquarters in India, employ at least thirty people, be no more than five years old, and have not had recent large layoffs in order to be eligible.  Between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, information was gathered for the 2025 ranking.

“For the third year in a row, quick-commerce startup Zepto (#1) tops the list, followed by Lucidity (#2), which is revolutionizing enterprise cloud storage, and Swish (#3), a 10-minute meal delivery service based in Bengaluru.

“Despite operating in different categories, all three are scaling rapidly and expanding into new markets, signalling that operational precision, technology depth and category agility are the defining advantages of India’s top-performing startups,” stated LinkedIn.

Key Sectors Driving India's Startup Ecosystem

Quick commerce, AI-native platforms, and specialized fintech are highlighted in the 2025 list as key drivers of India’s startup economy.

In addition to Zepto, the quick commerce industry is growing into related services, such as FirstClub (ranked 13) and Snabbit (ranked 14), which provide immediate grocery and housekeeping services.

The list of 20 startups also includes financial companies Jar (ranked 5), CARD91 (ranked 18), and Dezerv (ranked 16), as well as AI startups Weekday (ranked 4), Convin (ranked 6), and LimeChat (ranked 19).

Rising Stars: Hyderabad and Pune Gain National Prominence

Bengaluru, which is home to nine of the top 20 businesses, including Zepto, Swish, and Lucidity, cemented its position as India’s startup capital.

While regional centers are becoming more well-known, Delhi and Mumbai each have two entrants.  Both Hyderabad’s Bhanzu (ranked 7) and Pune’s EMotorad (ranked 9) have risen from city-level rankings to national prominence.

Professional Takeaways: Momentum, Fit, and Growth

“This year’s list is a map of momentum, not just who ranks where.  Younger businesses are growing more quickly, specialized models are gaining credibility, and Bengaluru’s edge is now thriving alongside other startup hotspots like Hyderabad and Pune.

“Time and fit are the key takeaways for professionals.  Use this list to identify areas where categories are expanding, where product-market fit is becoming a repeatable growth strategy, and where city-level winners are moving up to the national level.  Scope, learning, and effect tend to snowball there, according to Nirajita Banerjee, Senior Managing Editor of LinkedIn India News and a LinkedIn Career Expert.
