Deepinder Goyal Launches $25M Initiative to Discover Longevity Secrets

Deepinder Goyal Launches 25M Initiative to Discover Longevity Secrets

Three points you will get to know in this article:

1. Deepinder Goyal, the CEO of Zomato, has revealed a $25 million (INR 219.5 crore) personal initial capital for his Continue Research biological research project.
2. The CEO of Eternal stated that Continue Research’s objective is to get a deeper understanding of biology and aid in conscious evolution, which would eventually increase the longevity and functionality of healthy humans.
3. Global researchers are encouraged to apply for funds on the Continue Research website, which emphasizes an open-science methodology with “no rights reserved.”

The $25 Million ``Continue Research`` Initiative

In order to encourage upstream research in human aging and systems biology, Deepinder Goyal, the CEO of Zomato and the inventor of Eternal, has established a $25 million (INR 219.5 crore) personal seed fund for his biological research venture, Continue Research.

In a LinkedIn post, Goyal stated, “Today, we are expanding Continue Research to include a $25 million fund (entirely personally backed) to support researchers worldwide who dare to ask simpler questions than anyone else.”

A Focus on Longevity and Conscious Evolution

When Continue Research was first established in 2023, it was just a tiny internal endeavor with a group of researchers investigating a theory regarding the “leverage points” in the human body that might drastically change how individuals age and live.

Goyal continued, “We’ve been looking into a penny-drop insight about human aging… something that’s been hiding in plain sight.”

The CEO of Eternal stated in his post that Continue Research’s objective is to deepen our understanding of biology and aid in conscious evolution, which will eventually increase the longevity and functionality of healthy humans.

Part of a Larger Trend in Research and Innovation

It is important to note that Continue Research is not a part of Eternal, which also comprises District, Temple, Feeding India, Blinkit, Hyperpure, and Zomato.  Rather, it functions as a charitable platform to finance long-term, high-risk scientific research free from commercial pressure.

Goyal, a well-known startup investor and cofounder of companies including LAT Aerospace, stated that he believes that society’s “short-term decision making” stems from people’s short lifespans.

He wrote, “Our objective is to prolong healthy human function to the point where people no longer make snap decisions.”

Open Science for Global Researchers

With an emphasis on an open-science methodology with “no rights reserved,” the Continue Research website encourages researchers worldwide to apply for grants.

The Continue fund’s introduction coincides with a larger movement in India toward innovation driven by research.

To promote deep scientific initiatives, the government recently announced an INR 1 Lakh Cr research corpus.  AI-driven biology and longevity research are also gaining popularity worldwide, drawing in investors, scientists, and founders.

Goyal is currently the only supporter of Continue Research, which is anticipated to provide funding to researchers and labs across the globe that are developing fundamental biological insights that may eventually result in spinouts or open scientific discoveries.
