Founded by Bharat Khatri, Havintha’s mission is to provide natural alternatives to chemical-laden products, prioritising customer satisfaction and quality. So far, the brand has served over 10 lakh customers, relying primarily on word-of-mouth marketing.

In 2016-17, Bharat Khatri faced severe hair fall and started researching natural remedies. Realising the potential of chemical-free solutions, he developed his own formulas and launched Havintha to share these benefits with others.

Bharat started Havintha with a modest ₹22,000 credit card limit. Despite the financial challenges, his determination drove the company forward, transforming it into a thriving online business.

Havintha’s products come in powder form and are designed to be mixed with water before application. This ensures the products remain free of preservatives and unnecessary additives.

Havintha specialises in:

• Hair Care: Herbal powders for hair fall, dandruff, and scalp health.

The company procures herbs and seeds directly from growers, ensuring transparency and high-quality ingredients.

Havintha has shown impressive growth over the years:

• 2020-21: ₹77 Lakhs in sales.
• 2021-22: ₹3.1 Crores in sales.
• 2022-23: ₹4.1 Crores in sales.
• 2023-24: ₹5 Crores in sales.

This year, Bharat projects ₹7 Crores in revenue, with profit margins exceeding 20%.

Bharat entered Shark Tank India seeking ₹50 Lakhs for 2% equity, valuing Havintha at ₹25 Crores. While his story of perseverance impressed the sharks, his pitch faced significant scrutiny.

When the sharks inquired about how Havintha’s products prevent hair fall, Bharat struggled to provide scientific explanations. It became evident that:

• Bharat lacked formal knowledge of Ayurveda.
• No Ayurvedic doctor was involved in product formulation.
• Despite claims of lab testing and an AYUSH license, the ingredient list on product labels did not comply with regulatory guidelines.

• Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, and Vineeta Singh: Opted out, citing concerns about compliance and credibility.
• Kunal Bahl: Highlighted the business’s proprietorship structure as a barrier to investment and declined to invest for now.
• Peyush Bansal: Offered ₹50 Lakhs for 10% equity and 2% royalty until he recouped ₹1 Crore.

Bharat declined Peyush’s offer, standing firm on his valuation. Anupam continued to express doubts about the business’s transparency.
