OLL is a startup that provides online learning solutions for students and teachers. On Shark Tank India, Shreyaan Daga, the co-founder, showcased the platform’s personalized approach, offering various courses, live classes, quizzes, and progress tracking. The focus is on skill development classes for students in Grades 1-10, featuring live interactive sessions and certified courses by STEM and UNESCO. They’ve assisted 35,000 students in 25 months and offer 6 hero workshops like robotics, coding, and financial literacy. The annual subscription fee is ₹2,000, and they’ve made over ₹2.2 Crore in revenue in the last 28 months. They had 300 active teachers and reported a 41% student retention rate.

Prior to Shark Tank, OLL had secured funding in 2 rounds, and their latest monthly revenue was ₹28 Lakh with profits at ₹18 Lakh.

OLL Shark Tank Negotiations

Namita was worried about the company being able to grow successfully, so she decided not to invest. She did offer to help and support the entrepreneur as a mentor, though. Aman said he couldn’t invest because the company already had other people giving them advice and help with money, and he didn’t know enough about this specific area to invest wisely.

Anupam also decided not to invest because he didn’t understand the business well enough. Peyush, on the other hand, was really impressed by the entrepreneur and decided to offer some money to invest. Vineeta made an offer to give ₹10 Lakhs for 2% ownership of the company, and also to lend ₹20 Lakhs at 12% interest.

Peyush decided to match Vineeta’s offer, but Shreyaan didn’t want to accept the borrowed money. Peyush then suggested giving ₹30 Lakhs for 6% ownership, with Vineeta joining in. The company said they’d give 4% ownership instead of the 6% Peyush wanted, but Peyush said no. Then Shreyaan offered 5% ownership, which Peyush and the others agreed to. That’s when they made the deal and closed it.

After appearing on Shark Tank India, OLL, the company, didn’t end up finalizing the deal with the Sharks. OLL’s founder, Shreyaan, mentioned on LinkedIn that the Sharks took too long to make a decision, and by that time, the company had grown a lot in value. So, they said no to the deal from the Sharks and got money from other investors who valued OLL even higher.

As of July 2024, OLL is still running and has grown to other countries. They’ve also added recorded sessions to what they offer. OLL has made a surprising move by teaming up with CBC-TV18 to start a platform like Shark Tank India, but for kids in Grade 5-12. Young entrepreneurs can get investments up to 10 Lakhs from this new setup. Shreyaan also expressed gratitude for the Shark Tank team and said he had a good time on the show.
