IIT Bombay Grads’ Startup Angoor AI Bags ₹2 Crore Funding to Boost Tech Team

Three points you will get to know in this article:

1. Angoor AI, founded by IIT Bombay alumni, secured ₹2 crore in a pre-seed round led by Venturizer and notable angel investors.

2. AI-native platform unifies customer interactions across channels, automating engagement, support, and sales for B2C and D2C businesses.

3. The startup plans to grow its product and engineering team, build an enterprise sales function, and explore international markets, including the US.

Angoor AI Raises ₹2 Crore to Scale Product and Engineering Capabilities

In a pre-seed funding round headed by Venturizer and notable angel investors like Mayank Singh Tomar, Tarun Billa (Tech Lead at JP Morgan, Singapore), and Uday Sodhi (former Business Head, SonyLIV, and co-founder of Founders Room Capital), Angoor AI, an AI-native customer interaction platform, raised Rs 2 crore.

Three IIT Bombay graduates, Arpit Agrawal (CEO), Anuj Agrawal (CTO), and Rishabh Kumar (CPO), formed the Bengaluru-based firm in October 2023.

“WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Email, Website, App, and Voice are all present in today’s B2C enterprises, but they are not functioning cohesively anywhere. Consumers have a disjointed experience when they anticipate a flawless one. In order to keep up, teams are juggling disparate tools, losing context, and expending resources behind the scenes. It’s not a communication issue. We are addressing that business issue,” stated Arpit Agrawal, CEO and co-founder of Angoor AI.

How Angoor AI’s Platform Transforms Customer Interaction with AI

Agrawal claims that Angoor AI creates a single, ubiquitous view of the customer that permeates every interaction, channel, and phase of the customer life cycle by building a unifying contextual layer over a brand’s current stack of CRM, support, marketing, and sales tools.

The platform uses AI to automate client acquisition, engagement, support, and retargeting, allowing organizations to run around the clock without relying on human availability.

Funding Plans and Expansion Strategy for Future Growth

More than 20 B2C and D2C firms in India and the UK, including Sanfe, InstaAstro, Apps For Bharat, 3ioNetra, Rupyz, StudentTenant, and FitProperty, have reportedly been onboarded by the startup. As part of its expansion objectives, it is currently considering the US market.

The founders intend to expand the product and engineering function, create an enterprise sales team, and set up the framework for a product-led growth motion with the new funding.

“Having worked closely with Angoor AI for the past nine months, the team’s growth is a clear indication of what they can accomplish with the correct support.” There has never been a greater need for a single, AI-native platform. Ashish Mishra, co-founder of Venturizer, stated, “We evaluated several startups worldwide; Angoor AI stood out on both integration simplicity, technical depth, and founding team capability.”
