Shreedha Singh and Param Bhargava launched The Ayurveda Co. (T.A.C), a Gurugram-based D2C company, in 2021 with the goal of dominating the industry and becoming profitable by the next fiscal year.

However, this direct-to-consumer beauty and personal care brand’s journey has not been without twists and turns. Singh began looking for solutions in 2014 after developing severe skin allergies. Her search led her to Ayurveda, which healed her within six months. The notion of launching an Ayurvedic brand initially crossed her mind.

After years of research, Singh and Bhargava established The Ayurveda Co. However, much to their dismay, the husband and wife team encountered a lot of skepticism along the way. Despite this, the pair remained determined to change the impression of Ayurveda as a cure that takes time to work and is now outdated.

T.A.C- The Ayurvedic Co. Offerings

Currently, the D2C brand sells a wide variety of natural and ayurvedic beauty and personal care products, including face washes, cleansers, serums, moisturizers, hair care products, and makeup. All products are manufactured using ayurvedic substances that have been clinically proved and dermatologically tested to be free of sulphates, parabens, and other hazardous chemicals.

T.A.C offers its products through its website, kiosks, select shops, and online marketplaces like as Nykaa and Amazon. The business already sells its items at 30 department stores in Dubai, with plans to expand to 300 this year.

In India, The Ayurveda Co. has 20 exclusive locations, and its goods are sold in over 3,000 multibrand outlets across the country.

T.A.C. has raised a total of $15.2 million in four investment rounds. Its initial investment round occurred on July 14, 2021.

On March 13, 2023, it closed a Series A fundraising round for $12.2 million. Sixth Sense Ventures led the current round of funding, which included two investors.

T.A.C- The Ayurvedic Co. Finances

In terms of financial success, the D2C brand claims to have grown its sales by four times in FY23 to INR 45 crore from INR 12 crore in FY22. This rise can be due to the huge expansion of their customer base, which has increased by tenfold over the last two years, from a few thousand to an amazing five lakh.

In FY24, the founders intend to produce INR 150 crore in revenue. To support this, the D2C brand recently raised INR 100 crore in a Series A investment.

T.A.C ranks second out of 85 current competitors. Seven of its competitors are funded, while two have left.
