Orange Health Ends Fundraising Round With $12 Million In the Bag

Healthtech startup Orange Health has raised $12 million (INR 101.5 crore) in an unannounced fundraising round led by Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund.

Orange Health, founded in 2020 by Gupta and Bhambra, provides on-demand testing services. It competes with Practo, Redcliffe Labs, and PharmEasy in India. In 2022, the business raised $25 million in a Series B investment headed by Bertelsmann India Investments and General Catalyst.

A number of existing investors participated in the round, including Accel, General Catalyst, Bertelsmann India Investments, and Y Combinator.

Orange Health Plans for Fund Usage, Total Funding

The Bengaluru-based startup intends to use the new funding to expand its personnel, expand its product offerings, and drive additional diagnostic innovation.

“The company is now embracing omnichannel, investing in expanding its retail presence with eight operational collection centers, with hopes to increase to 30 by the end of the year. Additional initiatives include expanding our test menu, boosting its phlebotomist (eMedic) workforce within the next year, and constructing a new test facility to satisfy Bangalore’s growing demand,” said Dhruv Gupta and Tarun Bhambra, Orange Health Labs’ founders, in a statement.

Orange Health Labs Expansion, Growth In Recent Times

With locations in key cities including as Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, the organization claims to have performed over a million tests. Orange Health Labs claims to provide high-quality diagnostics directly to clients’ doorsteps, with reports sent within six hours after sample collection, whether at home or in clinic.

The company claims to have tripled its growth over the last two years and is on track to attain 100% growth this year.

Blooming of Indian Healthtech Startups

The development comes at a time when the country has seen a surge in healthtech businesses in recent years, owing to increased awareness of exercise and nutrition. From 2014 to June 2024, Indian healtech firms raised a total of $7 billion.

Notably, the Indian healthtech ecosystem has produced eight unicorns, including Tata 1mg, Innovaccer, Pharmeasy, and Pristyn Care.
