Sabine Hospitals Raises USD 50M in PE Funding

Sabine Hospital and Research Centre has successfully raised $50 million in private equity funding led by CX Partners, a notable fund renowned for its strong returns across economic cycles. The investment round also included Tanas Capital, a growth-stage private equity firm based in Singapore.

Leadership and Vision

Dr. Sivadasan Sabine, the founder and chairman of Sabine Hospital and Research Centre, highlighted the strategic importance of this investment. He emphasized that the partnership with CX Partners and the consortium of investors aligns with their vision to make high-quality fertility, birthing, and neonatal care accessible in remote parts of India. According to Dr. Sabine, this substantial investment validates the hospital’s clinical excellence and business acumen, reinforcing the need for advanced maternal and child healthcare services across the country.

CX Partners, managing assets worth $1 billion and overseeing 29 portfolio companies, boasts a diverse investment portfolio that includes healthcare, financial services, consumer products, and IT/outsourced services. Vivek Chhachhi, Managing Partner at CX Partners, expressed confidence in Sabine Hospital’s growth potential. He pointed out that the hospital’s affordable and high-quality healthcare services have demonstrated a remarkable growth rate of 25% CAGR over the past three years. The plan includes expanding Sabine Hospitals into adjacent markets, leveraging CX Partners’ expertise in healthcare investments, and enhancing the hospital’s management systems.

Future Plans for Sabine Hospital

Established in 2016, Sabine Hospital and Research Centre currently operates 300 beds, including 60 NICU beds, across two facilities in Kerala. The hospital offers comprehensive mother and child healthcare services, including IVF treatments, birthing, newborn care, and various gynecological procedures. With an annual count of over 6,000 IVF cycles and 3,000 deliveries, the hospital attracts patients from regions including the Maldives, Oman, Bangladesh, and various parts of India.

The future roadmap for Sabine Hospitals includes the addition of two more facilities within the next 6-8 months. Amit Sharma, Managing Director of Tanas Capital, conveyed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the hospital’s focused approach and its readiness for the next phase of strategic growth.
