Parul Gulati, an actor who has acted in television productions such as P.O.W. – Bandi Yuddh Ke and the web series Haq Se, says she has always had great dreams. “I wanted to build something bigger than myself and leave my legacy behind,” she reflects.
After nearly six years in the film industry, she decided to pursue entrepreneurship alongside her acting career. Gulati founded Nish Hair in 2017 motivated by a desire to leave a lasting legacy.
Gulati has always been passionate with hair care. When she was watching ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ in 2016, she got the inspiration to start the business after hearing Khloe Kardashian discuss hair extensions.
She founded the company in her living room, where she and her mother would stitch parts together. She recalls that it first took her three months to sell three pieces. However, the entrepreneur persevered and spoke with hairstylists to spread the word about her work.
She sometimes went door-to-door to market the products. “I remember selling a Rs 6,000 product at Rs 3,000 to a friend during the first few sales,” according to her. Gulati eventually began creating video content for her Instagram profile and actively interacted with her DMs to gain the trust of her followers. This gained traction, and their sales quickly increased.
