Anthropic Introduces Claude Design, Focused on Instant Visual Content

On Friday, Anthropic announced the release of Claude Design, a new experimental tool that enables users to create graphics like as slides, one-pagers, prototypes, and more. According to the company, Claude Design is meant to make it easier for individuals without a background in design, like as founders and product managers, to communicate their ideas.

When using Claude Design, users specify their needs, and Claude will produce a preliminary version. Users can then make direct adjustments or requests to improve the images.

Claude could be asked to “prototype a serene mobile meditation app,” for instance. It should have a simple layout, soft colors inspired by nature, and serene typography.

After that, you may ask Claude to include a dark mode toggle or change the typography’s size and color scheme.

Anthropic told TechCrunch that Claude Design is meant to supplement, not replace, the well-known design tool Canva, which recently increased its own AI capabilities. According to the company, its new solution is designed for individuals who need to swiftly transform an idea into a visual representation and aren’t starting from a design tool.

Teams can export presentation decks or prototypes as PDFs, URLs, PPTX files, or submit them to Canva. They are completely customizable and collaborative once in Canva, according to Anthropic.

In order to ensure that the outcomes are in line with the company’s general visual style, Claude Design can also apply a team’s design system to every project it produces. According to Anthropic, Claude Design may accomplish this by examining a company’s design files and coding. Teams can also maintain multiple design systems and improve these elements.

Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users can access a study preview of the new product, which is powered by Claude Opus 4.7.

As competition for AI workplace solutions heats up, the launch demonstrates Anthropic’s continued push into the enterprise and prosumer markets. Claude Cowork, an agentic assistant designed for challenging jobs, was introduced by Anthropic in January. A few weeks later, the business introduced agentic plug-ins to Cowork, which are intended to automate specific functions across a company’s departments.

The news was made today, just a few days after Bloomberg revealed that venture capitalists have been offering the business a preemptive funding round valued at at least $800 billion, which would nearly match or even exceed its rival OpenAI.
