Founder of Rodbez: Journey of Dilkhush Kumar

Dilkhush is a man who grew up in a small village in Bihar, India. His dad was a bus driver. He faced many challenges from a young age. At 16, he got married after finishing 10th grade. Because of family responsibilities, he wanted a stable job. Unfortunately, he couldn’t secure a job as a guard or a clerk due to various reasons like not recognizing the Apple logo. Dilkhush was often rejected in job interviews because of his looks and lack of formal education. Feeling discouraged, he returned to his village and asked his father to teach him driving. Initially, his father hesitated but later agreed. Dilkhush worked as a taxi driver in his village but it wasn’t enough to support his family. He then moved to Patna for better job opportunities. After working various jobs, he decided to start his own business. In 2016, he launched “AryaGo” with one car he bought borrowing money. Gradually, he expanded his business and did well.

In 2022, Dilkhush teamed up with his cousin and mentor to start a new venture called “Rodbez” which is performing successfully in Bihar. They raised funds and have a decent commission rate for rides. The company is currently meeting around one-third of the taxi demand due to limited availability. Dilkhush’s journey is a story of hard work and determination, showcasing how he transformed challenges into opportunities.

Rodbez : Shark Tank India Experience

Dilkhush shared his inspiring journey with the sharks at Shark Tank. He talked about the tough challenges he faced, the obstacles he conquered, and the dreams that kept him motivated. He asked for 50 Lakhs rupees for a 5% share in his business, Rodbez. Anupam, Aman, and Piyush declined to invest, but Vineeta and Ritesh offered 20 lakhs for a 5% stake and a 30 lakh loan at 12% interest for two years. Dilkhush accepted their offer. Dilkhush Kumar’s path to success was remarkable, especially since he lacked formal education. Despite this, his determination to learn and succeed was unwavering. He taught himself coding through YouTube videos. The sharks were amazed to discover that the innovative RodBez app was created by Dilkhush himself, solely through his self-taught skills from online tutorials. This showed that hard work and determination can overcome any challenge.

Current Operations, Ambitious Targets and Digital Presence

  • Currently, RodBez runs 20 taxis for travel within Bihar, making sure each driver earns 45,000 rupees in profit. Their unique system allows them to earn 20,000 rupees from each taxi every month, with a commission rate of 20%.
  • RodBez aims to complete 2000 rides daily, leading to a turnover of 75 to 80 crores. However, they struggle to fulfill all orders, receiving 100 but only completing around 35 to 36 each day.
  • RodBez has a strong online presence, with many visitors to their website and over 1 lac downloads of their app from the Google Play Store.
