Gujarat Government taking the initiative to commence Electric Vehicles asks Ola and Uber to Deploy

Gujarat has emerged as the first state of India to innovate mode of transportation and take Environment-friendly steps to promote sustainable development.

The state Energy Minister, Saurabh Patel is working actively to successfully deploy electric taxi service in Ahmedabad and other major cities of Gujarat.

The government is giving some incentives to taxi providing firms, Ola and Uber to promote the use of Electric vehicle by them.

Energy is a source of life but nonrenewal sources of energy like fuels and coal are depleting at a great pace. Therefore it is expected from humans to reduce use of fossil fuels and enhance the use of renewable sources of energy or the latest technologies to save fuels. Gujarat has emerged as the first state of India to innovate mode of transportation and take Environment-friendly steps to promote sustainable development. Initiation of the move is done by launching an electric taxi service in State.

The state Energy Minister, Saurabh Patel is working actively to successfully deploy electric taxi service in Ahmedabad and other major cities of Gujarat. Government is creating electric vehicle promotion policy concentrating on elaborating infrastructure and network for battery swapping and charging facility at an affordable rate. Mr. Patel has also thought to give incentive to EV using folks to motivate Gujarat population to use electric vehicles.

According to reports of Times of India, “Mr. Saurabh Patel had a meeting with taxi providing firms, Ola and Uber to start electric vehicle service. The government may give some incentives to promote the use of EV by them.”

Focusing on the importance of battery recharge network for electric vehicles, Patel added, “The new policy will encourage people at large scale and recharge station promoters. The government will announce an incentive for charge stations where the charged battery would be made available for electric vehicles within minutes same as span it takes in refueling vehicle at petrol pumps.” He also added government is planning to use electric vehicles for its own purposes too. The state public transport is also buying electric buses to ply between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Patel further added Gujarat will be the first state to provide incentives to promote the use of electric vehicles in the state. We will be top state in investing in electric vehicles and renewable energy.” 

The action taken by Gujarat Government is appreciable and other states will soon follow the footsteps and encourage the use of renewable energy for sustainable development of humanity.
