Unacademy CTO Hemesh Singh Resigns, Shifts to Advisory Role

Hemesh Singh, co-founder of Unacademy, resigned as CTO to move into an advisory role, announced via X (formerly Twitter).

Singh, reflecting on his decade-long journey, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to shape Unacademy and influence the Test Prep Industry.

Unacademy, founded in 2015 by Gaurav Munjal, Hemesh Singh, and Roman Saini, evolved from a YouTube channel into a major edtech platform.

Singh’s background includes a BTech from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology and a previous CTO role at Flatchat.

Gaurav Munjal praised Singh’s contributions and partnership, noting Unacademy will feel his absence after their 11-year collaboration.

Despite Singh's departure, Unacademy continues expanding, filling high-level positions like CFO and COO with new talent.

Singh's advisory role will still influence Unacademy's strategic direction, as the company pursues its goals and prepares for an IPO.
