Gaurav Jain, the Chief Business Officer of ShareChat and its short-video platform Moj, has officially stepped down from his position at the startup.
ShareChat CEO Ankush Sachdeva informed employees of Jain’s exit, followed by a public confirmation via Jain’s personal LinkedIn post.
Jain mentioned the move had been “in the works for some time” and said he would stay on for a few more weeks to ensure a seamless handover.
In his post, Jain hinted at his next professional chapter, stating he’s shifting focus “from Bharat to Pan-Asian” opportunities.
Jain joined ShareChat in October 2022 and initially led the emerging business unit before being promoted to Chief Business Officer in November 2023.
As CBO, he led monetisation strategies, advertising sales, creator partnerships, and virtual gifting initiatives across ShareChat and Moj.
Before his role at ShareChat, Jain was instrumental in expanding Snap’s APAC business and monetising Snapchat across India and Southeast Asia.
Jain also held key leadership roles at Meta India, focusing on mid-market business growth, and Google APAC, managing agency operations.
The company has started the search for a new CBO to replace Jain, aiming to maintain momentum in its monetisation and growth strategies.
Despite recent executive exits, including co-founders Bhanu Pratap Singh and Farid Ahsan in 2023, both remain active as board members at ShareChat.
