Blinkit has launched a pilot program in select Bengaluru pincodes to deliver prescription medicines within 10 minutes.

As part of this initiative, Blinkit is offering free doctor consultations to app users placing medicine orders, especially helpful for those without valid prescriptions.

The pilot expands Blinkit's healthtech push, following earlier efforts like a 10-minute ambulance service in Gurugram, now covering nearly half the town with 12 ambulances.

Blinkit’s ambulances have responded to 594 calls so far, with 50% classified as critical, and have achieved an 83% success rate in reaching patients within 10 minutes.

The company is also developing its own in-house paramedic training program to support the growing demand for emergency response services.

Blinkit joins the race with competitors like PhonePe and Swiggy, who launched similar 10-minute medicine delivery services in April 2025 and October 2024 respectively.

The quick commerce sector is rapidly pivoting towards essential services, especially healthcare, with multiple players accelerating prescription-based medicine deliveries.

Other industry entrants like Flipkart Minutes, Tata 1mg, Apollo 24/7,  Farmako, and Plazza are also experimenting with sub-60-minute medical delivery models, signaling intense competition.
