YouTuber Bhuvan Bam has joined Direct-to-consumer sexual wellness brand Peppy as an investor and co-founder
Peppy, established in 2023 by Devansh Agarwal and Shyamal Gupta, distributes a variety of sexual wellness items for men and women, including as massagers and lubricants
During its most recent fundraising round, which included Bam and other angel investors, the D2C brand was valued at INR 50 crore
Peppy said it raised $500K in a pre-seed round headed by Bam, BBKV Productions cofounder and CEO Rohit Raj, and others in May of this year
It is worth noting that BBKV Productions is a subsidiary of BB Ki Vines Private Limited, which is owned by Bam
The relationship will allow Peppy to use Bam's online fame to "connect" with the masses and promote its products to a larger audience
Notably, this is not Bam's first time investing in a firm. In 2022, he invested in the creator-owned marketplace business HYPD
Peppy said in the statement that it is now raising a seed round of $1 million to $2 million with the goal of extending its sales channels and market reach
The startup competes with companies such as Bold Care, MyMuse, and Kindly. Last year, Bold Care added actor Ranveer Singh as a co-founder
More and more celebrities are investing in Indian companies. This year, 19 celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Raveer Singh, Karan Johar, and KL Rahul, have invested in 21 startups
